For the sake of not cluttering my folder with so many images, I thought I'd try to kill two birds with one stone and combine my first section project with the multi-layer portion. The first thing I did was mask the two people out of their original background using masks palette. It was a little tricky using color range to get rid of the blue background especially when both people are wearing blue shirts. Afterward, I cleaned up the selection with mask edge and duplicated that to the beach image.
The easier part of the project was with the airplane. I simply used color range to clear its background and then moved it over to the project's background.
For the text, I found a picture of a sunset and simply applied a clipping mask onto the text.
So in a way, that's actually three birds with one stone, but I proceeded to make a separate image for the clipping mask just in case.

The original image was a blank TV, but I somehow used clipping mask to get a picture onto the screen. What I did was basically create a path outline around the TV screen with a pen tool, and with that path, I created another layer and made a mask out of it. With that mask, I placed the gingerbread house inside via clipping mask.
Color Range or Masks Palette?
I've been using color range before the start of project 3 since I've been afraid of using masks, but after learning about it in Lesson 7, I guess Masks palette isn't so bad either.
