Levels and curves: What tool do you prefer? Do you need both?

I like the curves better between the two. I think the curves tool gives you more control of the adjustments you make on your picture. I find it a lot easier and faster using the curves. I'm still not completely comfortable with the curve tool but I do know that I like it more then the level tool.

Variations: Which image did you choose? Why?

I chose a picture of Pacific City Beach on the forth of July. I was chose it because it was cloudy that day and the camera I took the picture with wasn't all that great. The picture turned out really bad due to the fog and needed some major editing. The color of the water and the shore have more color in person and needed some adjustment to improve the look of the picture.
